blessed busyness

It was another crazy, busy weekend.

Friday: work > video scavenger hunt at youth group > sleeping at my parents' because of our flea infestation

Saturday: much-needed sleeping in > Prince Caspian with the youth group > visiting the Andre's at the hospital and meeting Maeve Leanne Andre' for the first time- she's beautiful, of course

Sunday: church > some chill time > a graduation/going away party for Maria- an exchange student from Germany who has been in our youth group this past year > the Windsor/Healdsburg churches' Bacculareate service > David's Romania meeting during which I drove around looking for devices to mass murder our fleas- only to find that pet stores close at 6 on Sundays

Monday: (my weekend includes Monday because I have Mondays off) FLEA MANIA. David went out to get flea bombs, sprays, etc. while I flea-combed both of our cats > gave them flea baths which was traumatizing for me and them- "this hurts me more than it hurts you" > prepped our house for the bombs- taking things off all counters- covering anything desired to stay non-tox= everything- vacuuming- etc. > set off the bombs at 8pm > put flea ointment on the cats > showered the itchy flea feel away > and collapsed on the couch

Recap: the video scavenger hunt was fun and hilarious. running around the town square doing forced crazy things and getting strangers to join in then watching it all later- one of the best youth events possible. Ang is done with the pregnancy- Maeve is here! the timing of Sunday afternoon and evening worked out perfectly even though we weren't looking forward to hopping from one thing to another. God is good. David was blessed at his meeting and I got to relax and read a kitchen remodel mag during the end of his meeting. that's a happy thing. God gave me the strength for the flea marathon yesterday and we have been blessed to stay at my parents' house next door during the ordeal. amidst the craziness of life we are blessed and always reminded that God has a plan and perfect timing for everything. the clock and schedule tell us to stress out, but God tells us to rest in Him and unfrazzles our low expectations of a busy weekend and turns everything around to work out for the best. what a reminder to always give Him our time and days instead of running around like headless chickens. I, for one, like having a head.
