Oh I feel like dancing...

Yesterday we went to San Francisco and Corte Madera. I got shoes and a tie. Heidi got 3 tops. We both got free gelato from her friend Hillary. We skipped the Butter and Eggs parade in Petaluma and instead enjoyed a full day of shoppage, which we never do. I had to get coffee. I am tired now. I wrote this a few minutes ago: "Right now Heidi is sitting next to me singing “I’ve got gadgets and gismos a’ plenty; I’ve got whozits and whatzits galore…” as she removes her makeup with coconut oil and a Kleenex."
Today we went to church, but I barely got there; sleep was so nice this morning I hardly got up. There were some high school kids from Racine, Wisconsin at church and they did an interpretive dance thingy. Pretty random for Calvary Chapel of Petaluma- we're not really much of a dancing church. The closest thing we have to dancing is that one song where we sing, "Oh, I feel like dancing, it's foolishness I know..." but we change the words to "Oh I feel like singing..." Yeah, that's how dancy we are. So tonight was a breakthrough for us. Hooray.
I closed the church and we got chinese food and came home to watch "Happy Feet"- does every cartoon have to be a political message these days? I was glad that they had "I love to singa" on the special features though; such a weird old cartoon.
Tomorrow we have to get some sort of physical done at our house for the life insurance policies we got a few weeks ago. You can't eat before it so we scheduled it for the day off. We'll find out the wisdom of that later. I just hope they don't take my blood.
This Thursday I am scheduled to get a haircut for the first time in like 4 months. I am nervous; pray for me.
Heidi just read that last line, looked at me, and said, "It hasn't been 4 months... at all." So I typed what she said and haven't replied to her yet. I just said, "Oh, I didn't remember." She said back, "Your hair would be like crazy long... why are you writing all that; nobody cares."
I know you care. You read this, didn't you?

Eight monthiversary already!

(Heidi again) Yesterday was our eight monthiversary. I can't believe how fast time is passing! We are having a great time being married and our little quirks are rubbing off on each other more each day. We have picked up each other's weird voices and animations. A couple of the lucky people who were able to watch us interact uninhibited commented, "I'd like to be a fly on your wall." I personally would not like them to be a fly on our wall because #1.) That's just creepy thinking that someone else could watch us without our knowledge. and #2.) I wouldn't want to kill them with a magazine. All that to say- we are growing to be more and more quirky- but we are doing it together (awwwwww).

So truthfully, yesterday I completely forgot it was our eight monthiversary. I knew that it was Thursday which means that I have the day off and David gets off early, so we have the afternoon and evening together, but I forgot that it was eight monthiversary Thursday. It was a beautiful day so David and I decided to walk downtown because we live only blocks away. First we went to Powell's Sweet Shoppe (http://www.powellssweetshoppe.com). They used to only have one in Windsor near us, but recently put one in downtown... 3 blocks from our house. Very dangerous. We bought 2 lbs of delicious candy. (In fact, I am eating some right now and have sour candy dust all over my black shirt.) They have pretty much every candy ever made and play Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on a flatscreen over and over. They also serve gelato. David and I have yet to try it, but being 3 blocks away- we will in time. Powell's is a cavity's dream. If you haven't visited and you have a sweet tooth, please do. We continued walking around and eventually ended up at Fourth & Sea for some fish 'n' chips.
I actually got a corndog 'n' chips and shared some calamari with David. It was delicious. It was a very tasty evening. Without realizing it until today, we had a wonderful eight monthiversary. Thanks for asking.

Take a look at Ower life

(Heidi here) For your viewing enjoyment- a photo update of Ower married life:

After a wedding in our little apartment- I miss that place sometimes

For my birthday David took me to the San Fran zoo- I love all of God's creatures- David's being a rhino :)

In the car at Arco before the amazing Josh Groban concert. They wouldn't let us bring cameras in. The security was watching for cell phones taking photos the whole time. I had my cell out to text Brig and I got told to put my phone away.

Jelly Belly fun- we got a ton of belly flops and pear jelly bellies (mmmmm) - David took me there to throw me off the scent of driving towards Sacramento for Josh Groban- it was a surprise. How sweet is he?

Sushi night--- our first attempt at making sushi ourselves- turned out pretty good, but I still prefer Sushi Tozai

Our first marriage retreat in Tahoe-- the one in the sunglasses is mine... the living one- what a stud!

Our day trip up the coast to Bodega and Fort Bragg- in the middle of gross weather it was a beautiful day out of nowhere on the coast. Our little gift from God. :)

Back from Camp

[David jotting] We got back from Spring Camp tonight- quite the experience. Our church (Calvary Chapel Petaluma) doesn't have fixed camps that we do with other churches, so it's up to me to plan our Winter, Summer, and Spring Camps. This year, Heidi and I took the junior highers with a bunch of high school kids from our church and Calvary Chapel Healdsburg. We went to this place called "The Lord's Land" near Mendocino on the northern coast. The place used to be a hippy commune but during the Jesus Movement they all got saved and it became a Christian center. The 30 acres is littered with random buildings of all shapes and sizes, all of which were made completely by hand. The wood was all cut and carved by the former stoners and there are scriptures everywhere- carved into benches, walls, pillars, fences, and tables all over the property. Trippy place. Very cool. The theme was Hebrews 4:12, where we read that the Word of God is living and powerful, etc. There was a lot of good stuff shared. I taught on memorization. Good times. It was really fun except for the fact that I was sleeping outside in a tent and I have been sick since Good Friday (a week ago) and so I was freezing and miserable every night this week. Today we were outside in the early afternoon and I got my caucasian flesh fried pink; then I drove our the church's short bus (like the special ed. class uses) back down to Petaluma. Now I have an ear infection and my head is full of sickness. Yuck. Camp was a success all in all, but it sure is nice to be home. Now we are clean, in sweats, and watching Madagascar while munching on our Dove dark chocolate bunnies we got from Heidi's parents for Easter. Hurray for home.
